About
Bay Area-based graphic designer, Alexa Llerenas was originally born and raised in the Chicago suburbs to Mexican immigrant parents. The oldest of three she was a first-generation college student. As a child, she was often described as an old soul. Her childhood consisted of three things: devouring any sort of history books, playing in the street with her neighbors and her siblings, and creating. Always artistically inclined, Alexa often entered her artwork into school events and small local contests. With her degree in Graphic Design, she is focusing her projects on branding and identity, commission-based illustration pieces, and photography. Her work has been included in the Ohlone Louie-Meager Art Gallery. A fluent Spanish speaker, Llerenas proudly uses her Mexican cultural background and tight-knit family, and immediate surroundings to produce work that viewers can empathize with.
